Internship Responsibilities
As an AI Lab intern, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Research and Development in Generative AI
- Conduct research on advanced machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) models.
- Develop and fine-tune generative AI models for edge applications.
- Explore novel methodologies to improve AI performance and efficiency on limited-resource devices.
- Propose innovative AI solutions that enhance existing technologies.
2. AI Model Optimization for Edge Computing
- Implement techniques such as quantization, pruning, and model distillation to improve AI model efficiency.
- Optimize AI models for edge devices, ensuring low latency and high computational efficiency.
- Work on hardware-aware optimizations to enhance AI inference speed.
3. Benchmarking and Performance Analysis
- Conduct comparative analysis between optimized and baseline AI models.
- Develop benchmarking tools to measure improvements in accuracy, speed, and efficiency.
- Present findings and propose further enhancements based on research insights.
4. AI Model Implementation and Prototyping
- Develop proof-of-concept AI applications demonstrating real-world feasibility.
- Implement AI algorithms in Python using PyTorch and Hugging Face libraries.
- Experiment with fine-tuning models using LoRA/QLoRA techniques.
- Collaborate with team members to integrate AI models into edge-based systems.
5. Collaboration and Continuous Learning
- Stay updated with the latest AI research papers and technological advancements.
- Participate in team discussions, brainstorming sessions, and AI workshops.
- Work with cross-functional teams to align AI developments with business goals.
- Potentially contribute to research publications based on internship outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications and Educational Background
We are looking for students with a passion for artificial intelligence, machine learning, and edge computing. Ideal candidates should have a strong academic background and relevant coursework in AI and ML.
Minimum Education Requirements:
- Enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD program in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related discipline.
- Completed formal coursework in:
- Data Analytics & Statistical Modeling
- Machine Learning & Deep Learning
- Natural Language Processing (NLP)
Essential Technical Skills:
- Strong algorithms and data structures knowledge
- Machine Learning techniques (Classification, Regression, Bagging, Boosting)
- Deep learning fundamentals
- Natural Language Processing (NLP) methods
- Python programming proficiency
- Experience with the PyTorch framework
- Hugging Face Library (hands-on knowledge in fine-tuning with LoRA/QLoRA)
- Git version control (staging, commit, push, pull requests, branching, merging)
Additional Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have):
- Implementation of Transformers from scratch using PyTorch
- Familiarity with LLaMA and Mixture of Experts (MoE) model architectures
- Knowledge of Deep Reinforcement Learning (Deep RL) for small gaming environments (e.g., Atari games)
- Experience with systems engineering and high-performance computing (HPC) for AI workloads
