Senior Data Engineer Role Overview

As a Senior Data Engineer in the HCM Analytics team, you will be at the forefront of developing high-performance ETL pipelines that drive data integration across multiple systems. Your expertise in data engineering will be instrumental in enabling seamless data flows between SAP SuccessFactors, BDC platforms, and other key data sources. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to implement scalable and efficient data architectures that support real-time processing, optimize performance, and ensure data integrity.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Data Engineer

Design and Build Scalable ETL Pipelines: Architect and build large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines to process and integrate data at scale. You will focus on optimizing pipeline performance, scalability, and data integrity to ensure smooth data flows across SAP systems and other platforms.

Microservices Development and Maintenance: Design and implement microservices that handle data processing tasks efficiently. You will create reusable, scalable services to manage complex data workflows, with a focus on maintainability and robustness.

Skills and Competencies

To excel in this role, candidates should have:

Strong programming expertise in Python, Java, or Scala for building scalable data pipelines and microservices.

Experience with Apache Spark, Kafka, and Airflow for building data workflows and handling large datasets.

Proficiency in SQL for querying structured data and interacting with databases.

Experience with microservices architecture, including building, deploying, and managing data services.

Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes for continuous integration and delivery.

Education and Work Experience

8+ years of professional experience in data engineering, with a strong understanding of system architecture, programming, and technical troubleshooting.
