About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Product Engineer – Power Electronics to join our dynamic engineering team in Pune. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who possess deep expertise in embedded systems, analog/digital circuit design, and power electronics. The role involves end-to-end responsibility in evaluating, designing, testing, and validating power electronics components and systems, with a strong focus on compliance and international standards.


Key Responsibilities

1. Component Evaluation and Datasheet Analysis

  • Evaluate datasheets of a wide range of electronic components including ICs, discrete SMD and through-hole components, and high-power devices such as IGBTs, MOSFETs, Diodes, and Thyristors.

  • Conduct comparative analysis of multiple vendors’ component specifications to determine suitability and compatibility with existing designs.

  • Assess performance and reliability of alternate components and propose their integration into new or existing product architectures.

2. Circuit and System Analysis

  • Analyze schematics and component use-cases to validate design compatibility and production feasibility.

  • Carry out design calculations for capacitors, inductors, transformers, and semiconductor devices, ensuring optimal performance in real-world conditions.

  • Use simulation tools to model power electronic circuits and verify theoretical outcomes before prototyping.

3. Standards Compliance and Conformance Engineering

  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of global compliance standards including EMI/EMC, safety regulations, and environmental directives.

  • Ensure all components and designs conform to relevant certifications for safety and reliability.

  • Review and implement international standards during design phase and test strategy planning.

4. Testing and Validation

  • Design comprehensive test strategies by formulating detailed test plans, crafting specific test cases, and establishing test sequences that accurately reflect the intended design parameters and functional performance goals.

  • Set up and calibrate testing environments using professional lab equipment.

  • Conduct tests to ensure products meet functional and safety expectations.

  • Prepare detailed test reports summarizing findings, conclusions, and improvement suggestions.

5. Product Development Collaboration

  • Actively participate in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with Electrical, Mechanical, PCB, Conformance, and Project Management teams.

  • Support the R&D process from prototyping to mass production.

  • Assist in reviewing design documents, BOMs, and test outcomes to ensure successful product launches.


Technical Skill Requirements

  • Core Expertise: Power Electronics, Embedded Systems, Analog/Digital Circuit Design

  • Component Knowledge: IGBT, MOSFET, Diodes, Thyristors, Transformers, Capacitors, Inductors

  • Simulation Tools: Proficiency in circuit design and simulation tools (e.g., LTSpice, PSpice, MATLAB/Simulink)

  • Standards:

    Standards: Familiarity with international compliance regulations and certifications concerning product safety, electromagnetic interference (EMI), and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).

  • Test Equipment Handling: Must be experienced in using:

    • Digital Multimeters

    • Oscilloscopes (including HV probes and current probes)

    • Signal Generators

    • Power Supplies and Variacs

    • Power Analyzers

    • Data Loggers

    • EMC test instruments


Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a focus in:

    • Electronics Engineering

    • Electronics & Telecommunication

    • Industrial Electronics

    • Power Electronics


Professional Experience

  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in product testing, validation, and component evaluation for:

    • Power converter products

    • SMPS (Switch Mode Power Supplies)

    • Inverters, Battery Chargers

    • DC Power Supplies and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)

  • Proven track record in managing analog and digital circuitry across multiple product lines.

  • Experience working with alternate component sourcing and qualification processes.
