Role Overview: Cyber Crisis Manager

Wipro is looking for an experienced and dynamic Cyber Crisis Manager to join its cybersecurity leadership team in Bengaluru. The ideal candidate will lead real-time cyber incident response operations, build enterprise resilience strategies, and implement best practices for managing cyber crises. This high-impact position requires a combination of strategic vision, technical depth, and leadership under pressure.


Key Responsibilities

1. Cyber Crisis Management & Response Leadership

  • Lead enterprise-wide responses to critical cyber incidents such as ransomware attacks, advanced persistent threats (APTs), data breaches, and large-scale malware outbreaks.

  • Act as the strategic and operational command center during live cyber crises, managing resource deployment, communication flows, and stakeholder coordination.

  • Assess evolving threat landscapes and adversary behaviors, translating insights into actionable response strategies and resilient frameworks.

2. Cyber Resilience & Preparedness Strategy

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust cyber crisis management frameworks and escalation protocols.

  • Conduct readiness assessments, simulation exercises, and red-team/blue-team drills to stress-test the organization’s cyber response posture.

  • Develop response playbooks tailored for different cyberattack scenarios, ensuring agility and precision during high-pressure events.

3. Impact Evaluation & Operational Mitigation

  • Rapidly evaluate the severity, scale, and impact of cyber incidents and orchestrate real-time response efforts to contain, eradicate, and recover from threats.

  • Provide decision-makers with operational guidance to maintain business continuity, minimize reputational risks, and restore critical services.

4. Post-Crisis Analysis & Continual Improvement

  • Facilitate comprehensive post-incident reviews and lessons-learned sessions with cross-functional teams and leadership.

  • Integrate feedback into strategic planning to strengthen future incident handling capabilities.

  • Deliver structured after-action reports and recommendations to enhance preparedness.

5. Regulatory Compliance & Industry Frameworks

  • Research and interpret cybersecurity regulations, compliance frameworks, and security standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, MITRE ATT&CK, and NIST.

  • Ensure incident response and crisis management procedures align with global compliance mandates.

  • Translate complex regulatory language into actionable operations strategies to maintain audit readiness.

6. Technology Integration & Cyber Tools

  • Leverage advanced cybersecurity platforms and tools, including but not limited to:

    • SIEM/SOC Platforms: Palo Alto XSIAM, Splunk, IBM QRadar

    • ITSM Tools: ServiceNow, Remedy, or equivalent

  • Collaborate with internal SOC teams to continuously monitor threat indicators and maintain situational awareness.

  • Lead technical integration projects to enhance automation, detection, and incident triage capabilities.


Required Qualifications

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or related field (preferred).

  • Industry-recognized certifications are highly desirable:

    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

    • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

    • Certified Incident Handler (GCIH or equivalent)

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in cybersecurity operations, crisis management, incident response, or information security leadership.

  • Proven record of managing large-scale cybersecurity incidents, including zero-day vulnerabilities, insider threats, and coordinated cyberattacks.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong understanding of cyber threat intelligence, adversary tactics, and advanced mitigation techniques.

  • Deep knowledge of global cybersecurity regulatory requirements and enterprise risk management frameworks.

  • Proficiency with incident response lifecycle, digital forensics, and recovery planning.

Key Competencies

  • Excellent leadership and crisis communication skills under pressure.

  • Ability to make high-stakes decisions quickly and confidently in dynamic situations.

  • Strong analytical thinking with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

  • Comfortable working with diverse teams, senior stakeholders, regulators, and third-party partners.

  • Availability for 24/7 crisis management coordination when needed.
