Position Overview
Job Title: Assistant Manager – L&D Instructional Design | Talent Services, Deloitte India
Locations: Hyderabad / Bengaluru
Work Hours: Regular work hours are 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with some flexibility during peak project phases.
Experience Required: 8 to 10 years in Learning & Development/Instructional Design
Educational Qualification: Postgraduate (minimum 60% or 6.5 GPA), preferably in L&D or related field

As Assistant Manager – Instructional Design, you will be responsible for leading a dynamic team of instructional designers, overseeing project deliverables, managing client relationships, and ensuring the successful design and execution of customized learning solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Team Management & Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of instructional designers, ensuring high performance, clarity in roles, and timely delivery of learning solutions. -
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs), talent professionals, and business leaders to gather insights and develop learning strategies aligned with organizational goals. -
Project Execution:
Oversee learning design projects from inception to deployment. Develop project plans and allocate resources effectively while maintaining quality and timeliness. -
Client Engagement:
Build and maintain robust relationships with internal clients and stakeholders. Proactively identify learning needs and provide consultative solutions to enhance performance. -
Learning Innovation:
Apply instructional design models, theories, and technologies to create various learning formats such as ILTs, vILTs, e-learning modules, simulations, and job aids. -
Content Development Oversight:
Ensure all training materials meet design quality standards and are aligned with learner needs. Provide feedback and approve deliverables created by the team. -
Strategic Planning:
Support the broader Talent Development strategy by aligning learning solutions with organizational objectives. Assist in budgeting and vendor contract management. -
Knowledge Management:
Contribute to and lead community events, design workshops, and team capability-building sessions. Share best practices and maintain up-to-date documentation.
Desired Candidate Profile
Educational Background:

Candidates must hold a postgraduate qualification in any discipline, maintaining at least 60% or a 6.5 GPA throughout, with no active backlogs.

Specialization in Learning & Development, Instructional Design, or related domains preferred
Professional Experience:

8–10 years of experience in learning design, including at least 2 years in a managerial or client-facing role

Proven experience in instructional project execution, content creation, and team leadership

Prior experience in budgeting, vendor engagement, and strategic planning in a learning context
Technical & Design Skills:

Proficiency in instructional strategies, ADDIE/SAM models, and adult learning principles

Familiarity with authoring tools like Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, or Adobe Captivate

Ability to visualize and communicate complex ideas through compelling design elements

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Basic knowledge of GenAI tools in instructional design is a plus
