L&T’s Industrial Machinery & Products Division (IMPD) is seeking a highly motivated Executive – Commissioning Support to join its dynamic team at the Kancheepuram Works facility. Role Overview
As an Executive in Commissioning Support, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful programming, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial machinery systems. This position demands a strong understanding of PLC programming, electrical wiring schematics, and a sound knowledge of key electrical and hydraulic components used in tyre manufacturing and other related industries.
Key Responsibilities
1. PLC Programming
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs to ensure optimal machine functionality.
- Support the commissioning of new machinery by writing and debugging PLC codes in compliance with project specifications.
- Implement logic enhancements to improve system efficiency and reliability.
2. Electrical Wiring and Circuit Design
- Analyze and generate detailed electrical wiring schematics for a variety of machinery and systems.
- Ensure proper installation and maintenance of wiring in line with industry standards and safety protocols.
- Conduct electrical troubleshooting to resolve issues related to wiring and control panels.
3. Component Knowledge and Application
- Comprehensive understanding of essential electrical components including sensors, LVDTs, valves, PCVs, IO modules, and switchgears.
- Ensure proper selection, installation, and maintenance of these components to optimize machine performance.
4. Curing Press and Hydraulic Systems
- Understand the functionality and commissioning of curing presses used in tyre manufacturing.
- Troubleshoot and maintain oil hydraulic systems to enhance reliability and reduce downtime.
- Perform system diagnostics and conduct performance evaluations on hydraulic circuits to ensure operational integrity.
5. Tyre Manufacturing Process and Related Machinery
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the tyre manufacturing process and machinery involved.
- Support commissioning activities related to machines utilized in tyre production lines.
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives for production processes and machinery performance.
6. On-Site Commissioning Support
- Provide technical support during on-site commissioning of machinery.
- Coordinate closely with interdisciplinary teams spanning design, production, and maintenance departments.
- Prepare detailed commissioning reports and documentation.
Candidate Profile
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BEE) from an accredited institution.
Experience:
- 1 to 5 years of professional experience in commissioning support, PLC programming, and electrical systems within industrial environments.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and create electrical wiring diagrams.
- Comprehensive understanding of essential electrical components including sensors, LVDTs, valves, PCVs, IO modules, and switchgears.
- Expertise in operating and diagnosing issues in oil hydraulic systems.
- Familiarity with curing press functionality and the tyre manufacturing process.
- Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient working knowledge of leading PLC platforms such as Siemens, Allen Bradley, and Mitsubishi.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic system maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of safety standards and protocols in industrial environments.
- Exposure to tyre manufacturing or similar industrial processes.
