About the Role

L&T Construction’s Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) division is seeking skilled professionals for the position of Planning Engineer at its Indore site. This is a pivotal role, integral to driving the successful and timely delivery of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects, particularly in the high-voltage infrastructure domain ranging from 400kV to 756kV.

The ideal candidate will bring expertise in planning, coordinating, and executing transmission and distribution projects, ensuring project deadlines are achieved while effectively utilizing resources and upholding the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning & Scheduling:
  • Design and develop detailed project frameworks specifying objectives, key deliverables, individual tasks, major milestones, and deadlines.
  • Develop detailed project schedules using advanced planning software like Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Establish project scope, define timelines, and set measurable key performance indicators to monitor progress.
• Resource Allocation:
  • Plan and distribute project resources efficiently, ensuring optimal use of manpower, machinery, and materials.
  • Coordinate resource availability and manage resource conflicts to ensure project milestones are not impacted.
• Risk Management:
  • Identify project risks at the outset and develop risk mitigation and contingency strategies.
  • Continuously assess potential risks at every stage of the project and initiate timely preventive actions to minimize their impact.
• Cost Control & Client Billing:
  • Oversee budget preparation, cost tracking, and expenditure analysis.
  • Maintain strict control over project budgets and ensure alignment with financial forecasts.
  • Manage and verify client billing procedures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of invoices.
• Project Monitoring:
  • Continuously track project progress and performance.
  • Identify deviations from the original plan and implement corrective actions.
  • Generate and deliver Management Information System (MIS) reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Communication:
  • Serve as the primary liaison ensuring seamless communication and coordination among all project stakeholders.
  • Present project updates, progress reports, and forecasts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Foster effective collaboration among multidisciplinary project teams.
• Compliance and Standards:
  • Maintain strict compliance with company project management protocols and industry best practices.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to derive actionable insights and drive continuous improvement.
• Site Coordination:
  • Actively engage in on-site activities, overseeing the execution phase to ensure alignment with project plans.
  • Liaise with site managers, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Educational Qualifications:

• A Diploma or Bachelor’s qualification in Electrical Engineering awarded by an accredited institution.

Professional Experience:

• At least five years of escalating responsibility and hands-on experience in project planning.
• Proven track record in power transmission and distribution projects.
• Hands-on experience in construction planning, scheduling, and monitoring.
• On-site exposure to construction and commissioning phases is highly desirable.

Technical Skills:

• Expertise in utilizing advanced project management and planning tools including:

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite:
