About the Role

This senior-level role is centered around managing the end-to-end Software Asset Management function using advanced ITAM tools like FlexeraOne, FlexNet Manager Suite, and SNOW. The selected candidate will play a critical role in the implementation and optimization of IT asset management solutions, helping the organization maintain software compliance, reduce costs, and enhance lifecycle visibility.

You will act as a technical and strategic SME, supporting both agent-based and agentless discovery frameworks. Your work will impact compliance, entitlement validation, vendor agreement interpretation, and software cost optimization efforts across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

🔹 ITAM Tool Implementation & Architecture

  • Lead the design and implementation of IT Asset Management tools including FlexeraOne, FlexNet Manager, and discovery tools such as SNOW.

  • Create architectural diagrams and technical documentation for agent-based and agentless scanning methodologies, ensuring effective asset discovery and management across various platforms.

  • Ensure seamless integration with enterprise systems and configuration management databases (CMDBs).

🔹 SaaS Discovery & Lifecycle Management

  • Deploy discovery solutions tailored for SaaS environments to detect and oversee cloud-based application usage and inventory.

  • Monitor and manage the lifecycle of SaaS applications, from procurement and entitlement to decommissioning.

  • Evaluate the usage of SaaS applications to identify underutilized subscriptions and suggest optimization strategies.

🔹 ITAM Project Planning & Execution

  • Design comprehensive project plans for the deployment and configuration of ITAM tools, ensuring alignment with business and IT objectives.

  • Develop and execute implementation roadmaps with well-defined milestones, deliverables, and success criteria.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including procurement, IT operations, compliance, and security during deployment.

🔹 Agreement & Entitlement Management

  • Analyze software license agreements, contracts, and entitlements to ensure accurate data representation and license mapping.

  • Collaborate with procurement and vendor management teams to validate entitlements and ensure alignment with contract terms.

  • Define processes for entitlement gathering, classification, and validation across on-premises and cloud environments.

🔹 Data Validation, Monitoring & Reporting

  • Establish reliable data verification processes to maintain the integrity and accuracy of asset discovery and licensing information.

  • Deploy real-time monitoring systems to continuously track and identify newly added or updated assets across the IT environment.

  • Create automated reporting dashboards for internal stakeholders to assess software usage, compliance, and optimization opportunities.

🔹 Compliance Audits & Gap Analysis

  • Conduct compliance monitoring to ensure that deployed software aligns with licensed entitlements.

  • Coordinate internal software compliance reviews and collaborate with external auditors when necessary.

  • Perform gap analysis to detect deviations in license usage versus entitlements and recommend remediation.

🔹 Software Reclaim & Optimization Process

  • Lead the reclaim process to identify and remove unused software installations from the environment.

  • Design workflows for reclaim approval, user notification, and automated removal where appropriate.

  • Contribute to cost optimization initiatives by identifying software that can be eliminated, downgraded, or consolidated.

🔹 Flexera Data Model Design

  • Design and develop a Flexera data model that supports process integrations with ITSM, procurement, and financial management tools.

  • Ensure that the FlexeraOne or FlexNet architecture supports scalability and data consistency across the enterprise.

  • Create a metadata strategy to enhance data lineage, auditability, and reporting accuracy.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8 to 10 years of total IT experience with at least 6 years focused on Software Asset Management and ITAM tool implementation.

  • Expertise in FlexeraOne, FlexNet Manager, and SNOW (ServiceNow) platforms.

  • Strong understanding of agent-based and agentless discovery models.

  • Proficient in software license compliance frameworks, including Microsoft, Adobe, IBM, Oracle, etc.

  • Experience in handling SaaS application discovery, usage analysis, and lifecycle governance.

  • Deep knowledge of software agreements, entitlements, procurement practices, and vendor licensing models.

  • Skilled in converting intricate technical specifications into clear, executable project roadmaps.

  • Proficiency in generating dashboards, compliance reports, and audit documentation.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.
