Position Overview: Lead Administrator – L1

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Administrator – L1 to join our dynamic infrastructure management team in Pune. This role is designed for professionals who bring deep technical expertise in platform, database, middleware, and backup systems, and are adept at both architectural planning and operational execution.


Key Responsibilities

Architecture Planning & Platform Management

  • Provide end-to-end support for architecture planning, platform design, and technology installation for new initiatives in the assigned technology tower (platform/database/middleware/backup).
  • Lead the design and structural planning of the respective systems ensuring scalability, flexibility, and resilience.
  • Analyze system requirements to recommend efficient infrastructure setups that meet performance benchmarks.
  • Implement disaster recovery and business continuity strategies including the creation of robust backup and restoration plans.

Technology Operations & Maintenance

  • Handle day-to-day tower operations, performing proactive monitoring and system troubleshooting.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on recurring issues, devising long-term corrective actions.
  • Plan and execute system upgrades, migrations, routine maintenance, and configurations.
  • Optimize system performance through fine-tuning and performance evaluation.
  • Develop and maintain operational documentation including SOPs, data architecture guidelines, test plans, and support manuals.
  • Utilize automation and modern technologies to implement Service Improvement Plans (SIP), boosting operational effectiveness.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare and deliver weekly progress reports on tower operations to client and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor system activity, ensure SLA compliance, and identify and mitigate operational risks.

Team & Resource Management

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Forecast talent requirements based on current and projected project workloads.
  • Collaborate in hiring and onboarding competent resources that align with project and company goals.
  • Mentor hiring managers to execute effective recruitment strategies.

Training & Development

  • Ensure team members receive comprehensive onboarding and ongoing technical training.
  • Foster a high-performance culture by mentoring high-potential employees and ensuring succession planning.
  • Encourage diversity and inclusion, especially in leadership positions.

Performance Management

  • Set clear performance goals, conduct periodic reviews, and provide actionable feedback.
  • Promote internal programs like Performance Nxt, ensuring team participation and understanding.

Employee Engagement

  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, maintain high satisfaction scores, and foster a collaborative work culture.
  • Recognize and reward team contributions while assigning challenging assignments for career growth.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience in platform/database/middleware/backup architecture and support.
  • VMware Server Administration: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience are mandatory.
  • Years of Experience: 5 to 8 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, decision-making, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Documentation: Skilled in developing SOPs, technical documentation, and reporting.
