Job Summary:

Cognizant is seeking a seasoned and visionary Corporate Security Operations Director to lead strategic workforce planning, training, and capability development for over 700 associates within its Corporate Security organization. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Legal and Corporate Administration Operations, this leadership role requires a highly skilled professional to craft workforce strategies, improve operational readiness, manage critical talent resources, and drive excellence in Corporate Security functions across the enterprise.

This is a high-impact opportunity to shape Cognizant’s global security workforce, standardize service delivery, enhance knowledge management, and prepare the organization to meet emerging cybersecurity threats and technological advancements.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Workforce Development:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive workforce planning strategies to meet evolving security, risk, and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor workforce capacity, identify concentration risks or skill shortages, and implement mitigation strategies for business continuity.
  • Establish qualification standards for all security roles, aligned with internal functional requirements and global industry standards.
  • Define and manage career progression pathways, training, and upskilling programs using frameworks such as NIST NICE (National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education).
  • Develop standardized job descriptions and work roles to ensure consistency in hiring and promotion.

Operational Optimization:

  • Design and implement the Corporate Security Service Catalog and associated management best practices to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Conduct regular assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of security capabilities, training programs, and workforce deployment.
  • Recommend realignment or restructuring strategies to strengthen security operations and workforce resilience.

Financial and Resource Management:

  • Secure leadership alignment and budget allocation to support long-term security objectives.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis of security resource investments, training programs, and personnel management initiatives.
  • Advocate for adequate funding to support cybersecurity training resources, including both in-house and external certifications and education platforms.

Performance Metrics and Knowledge Management:

  • Define and track KPIs related to workforce readiness, position fulfillment, and security capability development.
  • Utilize data analytics to drive decisions around staffing needs, resource gaps, and risk reduction priorities.
  • Lead efforts in knowledge retention, succession planning, and identifying single points of failure.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on corporate security workforce matters.
  • Establish strong communication channels across departments to align security objectives with business goals.
  • Foster a high-performance culture by developing internal communities of practice and enabling cross-functional learning.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Management Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred (MBA, MS in Cybersecurity or Strategic Leadership is a plus).
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in information security, cybersecurity operations, and workforce or risk management.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, workforce development programs, and operational risk mitigation.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale security teams, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration.
