 Key Responsibilities
As a network engineer at Capgemini, you will:
• Be working extensively with Cisco Catalyst Series switches like Catalyst 9000, 3850, and 6800.
• Utilize deep understanding of Cisco hardware and architecture to set upsupport, and troubleshoot enterprise-level networks.
• 
Use sophisticated routing protocols like LISP (Locator/ID Separation Protocol), BGP (Border Gateway Protocol), OSPF (Open Shortest Path First), ISIS, and Multicast.
• 
Apply network segmentation and virtualization using technologies like VRF-Lite, VXLAN (Virtual Extensible LAN), and CTS (Cisco TrustSec).
• Configure and troubleshoot 802.1x authentication and spanning tree protocols
 and provide secure network access.
• 
Use your knowledge of SDN (software-defined networking) principles to create scalable, software-controlled networks.
• Work 
directly with Cisco DNA Center (DNAC) to provisionmanage, and monitor the networks effectively.
• 
Work with cross-functional teams to develop and execute network migration plans and comprehensive test plans.
• Ensure the 
development of comprehensive documentation, including implementation and migration plans, technical notes, and process guidelines.
• 
Become the primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders, providing technical assistance with clearness and confidence.

Required Technical Skills
To 
succeed in this role, you must have the following technical skills:
• Product Knowledge: Hands-on experience working with Cisco Catalyst switches, particularly the Catalyst 9000, 3850, and 6800 series. Knowledge of Ciscos architecture and internal product design is a must.
• Routing and Switching Protocols: Excellent hands-on skills in configuring and troubleshooting routing protocols including
• LISP
• BGP
• OSPF
• ISIS
• Multicast Routing
• Network Virtualization:
• In-depth understanding of VRF-Lite, VXLAN, and CTS for secure and isolated network segments.
• Access Control & Security:
• Practical knowledge of dot1x (IEEE 802.1x) for port-based access control.
• 
The ability to implement and support spanning tree protocols to provide network stability and redundancy.
• SDN Technologies:
• 
Hands-on exposure to industry-standard SDN solutions with the ability to integrate and orchestrate software-defined infrastructure.
• Cisco DNA Center:
• 
Familiar working experience of Cisco DNA Center (DNAC) for automation and assurance in large-scale networks.

• a bachelors or masters degree in computer science, information technology, electronics, telecommunications, or related discipline.

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
• Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)—Strongly Recommended
