About the Pluto Train 2 Project
Pluto Train 2 is a significant expansion project at the current Pluto LNG onshore plant in Karratha, Western Australia. The project includes the addition of a second LNG train to boost capacity to address growing global energy needs.
Bechtel is joining forces with Woodside Energy, Australia‘s largest natural gas producer, to bring this transformational project to life. The Pluto Train 2 project is an important contributor to the world’s transition towards cleaner transitional energy sources such as LNG.
Your Role as a Graduate Project Controls Planner
You will become a member of the Bechtel project controls team as a Graduate Planner, working in a hands-on setting that is a combination of technology, strategy, and engineering excellence. You will assist with schedule development, cost estimating, monitoring, and project analysis on a major energy infrastructure project.
This role provides a unique opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team and gain exposure to the dynamic nature of construction and energy projects. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you’ll build a foundation for a long-term career in project controls and management.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the graduate program, your day-to-day duties will include
• Supporting cost estimating, cost analysis, and cost control processes
• Supporting the creation, upkeep, reporting, and monitoring of project schedules
• Field verification and data collection of engineering drawings, plans, and scope documents applicable to your discipline
• Data tabulation and quantity takeoffs from engineering and construction drawings
• Verifying and reconciling quantities for accuracy and conformity
• Preparing and presenting cost and schedule performance data to internal and external stakeholders
• Acquiring skills to utilize industry software and tools in actual project settings
• Participating in planning meetings and contributing to overall project controls strategy

Work Conditions & Site Information
This position is located in Karratha, with work being done mainly on-site at the Pluto Train 2 facility.
Site-specific Information:
• Roster: 3 weeks on / 1 week off (Fly-In Fly-Out or Drive-In Drive-Out for non-locals)
• Non-smoking site: Pluto Train 2 is a Major Hazard Facility, therefore no tobacco products (e.g., cigarettes, vapes) are permitted onsite.
•Safety protocols: Wearing personal protective gear (PPE) like harnesses, hearing protection, respirators, and fall arrest systems is required.
•Physical expectations: Applicants must be able to walk on uneven ground, climb ladders, and work at heights or in cramped spaces.
