Introduction:
Our IBM Server IO Logic Design group develops proprietary and industry-standard interfaces for IBM POWER systems and Z Mainframe processors. We deal with leading-edge technology, and data rates ranging from 2.5 Gbps to 64 Gbps or more. As a team member, you will be involved in an innovative work environment, developing state-of-the-art logic design and high-performance computing systems.
We are looking for professionals who can elicit product feature requirements, translate them into design documentation, and develop logic for IBM hardware, including server systems, storage systems, and network systems. This position also includes unit testing and integrating modules into the final product. Hardware logic developers are also tasked with resolving defects encountered during the development cycle, assisting lab teams in post-silicon hardware verification, and helping the firmware team debug software routines.

Role and Responsibilities
As a Server IO Logic Design Engineer – Lead, your primary responsibilities are:
•Working with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to establish functional requirements and deliver effective solutions.
•Designing logic components in VHDL/Verilog and coding C functions for microcontrollers.
•That components developed are rigorously block-tested and debugged through waveform analysis prior to being integrated into the system.
•Defect identification and fix by the defects found by the verification team throughout the development life cycle.
•Collaborating with the physical design team to enhance the design in terms of timing, power optimization, and area.
•Assisting lab teams with hardware characterization and validation in the bring-up lab.
•Supporting firmware engineers in debugging firmware and software procedures to make the system run smoothly.
Skills and Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
•At least 7+ years of experience in logic design, especially in high-speed I/O or analog mixed-signal fields.
•Excellent skills in logic design methodologies.
•Skills in VHDL and Verilog hardware description languages.
•Understanding of C programming for hardware-related tasks.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
•Knowledge of IBM logic design or high-speed IO logic design.
• High-speed IO interfaces and analog mixed-signal domain knowledge.
• Directed designer simulation testing experience.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Educational Requirements
• Required: Bachelor‘s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
