As a software engineer in Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team, you will work on developing, debugging, and enhancing software applications and operating systems. You will contribute to scalable, highly available distributed services and collaborate with other teams to improve software architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance software applications following design specifications.
- Debug and troubleshoot existing software solutions to improve performance and functionality.
- Implement best practices in object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithm design to build efficient and scalable solutions.
- Work with microservice architecture and cloud technologies to develop robust applications.
- Solve moderately complex problems while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize software architecture and introduce new features.
- Continuously learn and apply the latest advancements in software engineering to improve efficiency.
- Exhibit behaviors that align with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) values to foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
- 6+ years of experience in software development with proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language such as Java, C++, C#, JavaScript, or Go.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and ability to work independently or within a team.
- Experience with highly available and scalable distributed services.
- Proficiency in microservice design patterns and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in a DevOps environment.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like Oracle Cloud, AWS, or Azure.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.
- Prior experience working in agile development teams.
Work Location & Relocation
This role is based in Austin, TX, or Nashville, TN. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
Compensation & Benefits
Oracle provides a highly competitive compensation package with salary ranges based on location, experience, and market conditions.
Estimated Salary Ranges
- California: $95,900–$192,000 per annum (bonus & equity eligible)
- New York City: $90,600–$182,400 per annum (bonus & equity eligible)
- Washington: $93,100–$182,400 per annum (bonus & equity eligible)
- US National Average: $94,200–$223,500 per annum (Bonus & Equity Eligible)
