Are you an experienced network engineer with 5-9 years of expertise in designing, developing, and managing complex network infrastructures? Role and Responsibilities

A day in the life of an Infoscion as a network engineer includes:

  • Network Design, Development & Support: Ensuring efficient design, development, validation, and support activities to provide exceptional service in network technology.
  • Incident & Problem Resolution: Addressing and resolving issues related to routing, switching, wireless technologies, SD-WAN, SD-LAN, and data center networks (DCN).
  • SLA Compliance: Ensuring timely resolution of network issues within the Service Level Agreement (SLA) framework.
  • Critical Issue Handling: Managing Priority 1 (P1) incidents and Major Incident Management (MIM) cases with urgency.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Working closely with networking Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to identify resolutions and permanent fixes.
  • Capacity & Change Management: Implementing best practices for network capacity planning and change management.
  • Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis: Applying fundamental troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and rectify network failures effectively.
  • Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborating with inter-domain teams to resolve tickets and ensure adherence to SLA timelines.
  • Escalation Management: Serving as a trusted advisor for customers by managing escalations and addressing client queries effectively.
  • Service Operations Management: Running IT service operations efficiently in coordination with process and service owners.
  • Report Preparation: Generating insightful reports as per business requirements to track network performance and efficiency.
  • Ticket Closure & Operational Efficiency: Ensuring prompt closure of tickets within SLA parameters while optimizing operational workflows.

Technical & Professional Requirements

Core Networking Expertise

Candidates should possess a deep understanding of core networking protocols and concepts, including but not limited to:

  • Networking Protocols: Expertise in SD-WAN, SD-LAN, TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), Wireless Controller (WLC), and Wireless Access Points (WAP).
  • Data Center Networking: Knowledge of data center architectures, including Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), Spine & Leaf topology, and flat vs. hierarchical networking structures.
  • SD-WAN Solutions: Experience with leading SD-WAN technologies such as Viptela, Silver Peak, Versa, and Aryaka.
  • Monitoring & Ticketing Tools: Familiarity with network monitoring and IT service management tools such as SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA Center (DNAC), BMC Remedy, Jira, and ServiceNow.
  • Load Balancing Solutions: Hands-on experience with leading network load balancers, including F5, NetScaler, and VMware AVI.
  • DNS/DHCP/IPAM & Cloud Proxy: Working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (IPAM), along with cloud proxy services.
  • Network Performance Monitoring: Ability to analyze network performance metrics such as bandwidth utilization, latency, and packet loss to proactively address potential issues.

Preferred & Generic Skills

Preferred Technical Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should have hands-on experience in:

  • WAN Technologies: Strong understanding of data networking with a focus on Wide Area Networks (WAN).
  • Cisco ACI: Expertise in Cisco’s Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) and related technologies.
  • LAN Switching: Knowledge of Cisco LAN switches for network infrastructure management.
  • Software-Defined Networking (SDN) & Network Function Virtualization (NFV): Experience in implementing SD-WAN solutions and network automation.
  • Cisco Certifications: Professional or expert-level certifications from Cisco are highly desirable (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, or similar).
