Position Summary
As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining secure, automated CI/CD pipelines, integrating security practices across the software development lifecycle. This role is outcome-driven and requires technical leadership, customer-focused engineering, and deep collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will design, implement, and manage infrastructure, ensure high availability, and mitigate security vulnerabilities, contributing directly to Deloitte’s digital transformation journey.
Key Responsibilities
1. Outcome-Focused Engineering
- Build and maintain DevSecOps automation pipelines that are secure, lean, resilient, and cost-effective.
- Ensure all pipelines and automation meet platform-specific KPIs, compliance, and business value targets.
- Deliver high-quality CI/CD workflows that reduce downtime and enhance deployment reliability.
2. Technical Leadership & Advocacy
- Champion the adoption of modern DevSecOps tools and methodologies.
- Design and maintain code repositories, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure environments.
- Integrate key tools such as static and dynamic code analysis, security scanners, and quality engineering automation.
- Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) techniques for environment management.
3. DevSecOps Craftsmanship
- Lead implementation of advanced deployment strategies (Blue-Green, Canary, A/B Testing).
- Provide hands-on support to engineers for DevSecOps onboarding and best practice implementation.
- Proactively resolve production issues by triaging and troubleshooting environments.
- Explore and adopt new technologies aligned with project goals.
4. Customer-Centric Automation
- Work alongside product teams to assess and define requirements related to automation workflows, security protocols, and operational efficiencies.
- Deliver scalable solutions using rapid prototyping and iterative experimentation.
- Ensure traceability, logging, version control, and continuous delivery features are embedded.
5. Agile & Iterative Delivery
- Embrace Lean and Agile principles to deliver incremental improvements.
- Tackle complexity with a solution-first mindset and data-driven decision-making.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with teams across product management, engineering, experience design, delivery, and cybersecurity.
- Drive informed decisions by balancing technical feasibility with user needs and business goals.
7. Technical & Cloud Proficiency
- Apply knowledge of Agile, DevSecOps, and CI/CD practices to build and optimize products.
- Understand full software development lifecycle from design through scaling.
- Ensure continuous improvement of DevSecOps practices within the team.
8. Domain Expertise
- Understand domain-specific business requirements and translate them into automation frameworks.
- Navigate enterprise functions like compliance, security, and product engineering to deliver integrated solutions.
9. Communication & Influence
- Clearly articulate technical ideas, system designs, and decisions to both technical and business audiences.
- Provide evidence-based recommendations, trade-offs, and solution narratives aligned with business goals.
10. Co-Creation & Engagement
- Cultivate strong collaborative relationships with internal product and engineering teams.
- Foster innovation and consensus in developing effective, scalable, and secure solutions.
Key Qualifications
- Education:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline is essential.
- Master’s degree (e.g., M.S.) is preferred but not mandatory.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong foundation in software engineering: OOP/OOD, functional programming, data structures, and design patterns.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience with programming languages: Python, Bash, PowerShell, JavaScript, C#, and Golang (preferred).
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise, and Git workflows.
- Hands-on experience with leading security automation tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, Mend, and similar platforms.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace.
- Extensive experience in automating infrastructure using tools such as Terraform, Puppet, Azure Resource Manager (ARM), AWS CloudFormation, and Google Cloud Deployment Manager.
- Familiarity with cloud-native services such as API Gateways, Data Lakes, PaaS, and Security-as-a-Service on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Additional Competencies:
- Understanding of Agile methodologies including Scrum, SAFe, and XP.
- General knowledge of cloud security protocols, database technologies (e.g., RDS, Aurora, Azure SQL), and network infrastructure.
- Preferred: Exposure to AI/ML or GenAI environments.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
