Position Summary

The Digital Release Manager will work in close collaboration with the Digital Delivery and Release Leader, serving as a key liaison in overseeing the execution of global software deployment initiatives. The primary responsibility is to plan, coordinate, and oversee the deployment of software releases across multiple workstreams and technical environments. This individual will ensure that releases are timely, high-quality, compliant, and executed with minimal disruption to global operations.

This role is highly collaborative, involving cross-functional coordination among development, QA, operations, risk, and business stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain comprehensive release plans, ensuring timely deployment of software.
  • Coordinate and align activities between teams, including development, QA, infrastructure, risk management, and business partners.
  • Enforce compliance with software delivery lifecycle (SDLC) and quality assurance protocols.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks and issues associated with releases.
  • Oversee and disseminate updates on the release schedule, monitor ongoing changes, and coordinate all relevant status communications across stakeholders.
  • Supervise key release processes including code branching, merge strategies, build management, and final deployments.
  • Conduct readiness assessments, go/no-go meetings, and retrospectives for continual process improvement.
  • Maintain thorough release documentation including release notes, rollback protocols, and deployment manuals.
  • Own and manage post-deployment support through Hypercare plans and urgent release cycles.

Required Qualifications

  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably in Computer Science)
    • Master’s degree in Business Administration (preferred)
  • Certifications:
    • PMP (Project Management Professional) – Preferred
    • Six Sigma Certification (Green or Black Belt) – Advantageous

Desired Skills & Experience

Must-Have:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Project Management Office (PMO) or consulting environment.
  • Strong experience with Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar project tracking and development lifecycle tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • In-depth understanding of the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC).
  • Proven ability to operate in a global, remote, and cross-cultural environment.
  • Availability to travel up to 20% internationally, including to the U.S. and Hyderabad.
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills.
  • Strong executive presence and outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and conceptual thinking capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle projects independently and juggle multiple priorities.
  • Track record of managing enterprise-level, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strategic mindset with ability to develop business cases and roadmaps under guidance.

Good-to-Have:

  • Knowledge of SOC 2, GDPR, and other data privacy regulations.
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments.
