Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Civil Engineer to join our Heavy Engineering division. This role is ideal for professionals who have comprehensive experience in basic and detailed engineering, particularly for revamp and brownfield projects in industries such as refinery, fertilizers, chemicals, petrochemicals, specialty chemicals, oil & gas, off-sites, and utility facilities.
Experience Requirements
- Experience Range: 5 to 9 years in civil and structural engineering.
- Solid background in revamp and brownfield projects.
Educational Qualifications
- Educational Requirement: A Bachelor’s degree (BE) in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
Key Skills and Technical Expertise
Civil and Structural Engineering
- Independently conduct civil and structural design reviews and generate design deliverables.
- Execute detailed design and engineering activities for:
- Concrete building design
- Foundations for steel structures
- Equipment foundations (isolated and raft)
- Piling systems, hard stands, paving
- Underground pits and trenches
- Piperacks and technological structures
- Review fabrication drawings and coordinate with detailing teams to ensure timely project completion.
Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration
- Work closely with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, project managers, and detail engineering partners.
- Perform multi-disciplinary checks and gather necessary inputs for comprehensive design deliverables.
Design and Analysis
- Proficient in connection design, including ductile detailing.
- Perform detailed analysis of soil investigation reports, assess the structural integrity of existing buildings, and evaluate fabrication and erection drawings for compliance and quality.
- Advanced expertise in designing foundations tailored for both static and dynamic equipment requirements.
- Prepare accurate design calculations for pipe racks, equipment shelters, buildings, EOT crane-supporting structures, and process technological structures.
Pre-Bid and Estimation Experience
- Expertise in material estimation for pre-bid projects.
- Develop cost-competitive approaches for proposals.
- Identify risks during pre-bid stages and evaluate their impacts on project deliverables.
Standards and Software Proficiency
- Strong knowledge of international and Indian standards:
- ASCE
- ACI
- AISC
- Eurocodes
- IS codes
- Proficient in STAAD.Pro for structural design and analysis.
- Knowledgeable in soil strength calculations and seismic and wind load analyses based on global standards.
Risk Assessment and Optimization
- Evaluate how inputs from upstream disciplines influence the quality and accuracy of civil and structural design outputs.
- Provide optimal and cost-effective solutions by coordinating with all relevant disciplines and conducting risk studies.

- Ensure that all deliverables align with project specifications and adhere to the highest standards of quality and engineering excellence.
