Experience Requirements
- Minimum Experience: 7 to 10 years in solar operations and maintenance.
- Proven track record of managing a single plant with a minimum capacity of 50 MW.
- Extensive hands-on experience in electrical equipment testing and commissioning is mandatory.
Educational Qualifications
- Minimum Qualification: Program in Project Management Level-1 or equivalent.
Key Skills and Expertise
Solar Plant Operations and Maintenance
- Monitor daily operations of all plant electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Develop, schedule, and execute Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) activities.
- Attend and resolve breakdown maintenance issues with minimal downtime.
- Perform annual testing of all major electrical equipment.
- Implement maintenance strategies adhering to OEM guidelines and O&M manuals.
Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain comprehensive site reports including:
- Daily Generation Reports (DGR)
- Maintenance Reports
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports for breakdowns
- Ensure adherence to Quality Management Systems (QMS) through meticulous record-keeping.
Stakeholder Management
- Internal Stakeholders: Collaborate closely with reporting managers, supply chain teams, finance & accounting (F&A), and engineering departments.
- External Stakeholders: Maintain effective communication and coordination with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
Team Leadership
- Lead and manage a team of 15+ members including engineers and technicians.
- Conduct regular training programs for subordinates to enhance technical skills and site performance.
- Foster a collaborative work environment ensuring continuous team development.
Contract and Compliance Management
- Understand and enforce the terms and conditions outlined in O&M contracts.
- Ensure that all site operations comply with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations.
- Oversee and maintain equipment warranties and guarantees.
- Guarantee compliance with Contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as:
- Generation targets
- Performance Ratio (PR) benchmarks
Subcontractor and Spare Management
- Efficiently manage subcontractors for various site services.
- Oversee the management of stores and spares inventory.
- Ensure the timely procurement and utilization of spare parts to minimize downtime.
Electrical Expertise
- Strong operational and maintenance knowledge of:
- High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical systems
- Inverters and transformers
- Switchyards and substation equipment
- Expertise in electrical equipment testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
Communication and Software Skills
- Excellent proficiency in MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Clear and transparent verbal communication skills.
- Basic yet effective email communication abilities.
- Strong reporting and documentation skills to support operational transparency.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operational functions and ensure efficient performance of all site activities.
- Conduct comprehensive inspections and testing of electrical equipment.
- Monitor plant performance against generation and PR targets.
- Manage emergency response procedures for breakdowns and outages.
- Develop strategies for continuous improvement of site operations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal departments.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices within the team.
Travel and Work Requirements
- Willingness to be based at the plant site.
- Flexible to travel for inspections, audits, and training sessions as required.
