This hybrid, full-time role is based in Bangalore, Chennai, or Kolkata, and is focused on enhancing the performance and reliability of enterprise applications through advanced performance testing and tuning.
This is an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in Dynatrace, Java, and LoadRunner to identify and resolve system bottlenecks, ensuring that applications perform efficiently at scale. The role offers day shifts with no travel requirements, providing a balanced and collaborative work environment.
Position Summary
As a Performance Analyst at Cognizant, you will be responsible for monitoring application performance across test and production environments, conducting performance testing, and analyzing system metrics. You’ll work closely with development teams to resolve performance-related issues and contribute to performance optimization across critical digital applications.
Your contributions will be instrumental in ensuring the delivery of scalable, high-performing applications that meet both technical specifications and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Performance Testing & Monitoring
- Design and execute performance testing strategies using LoadRunner to simulate real-world load scenarios.
- Utilize Dynatrace to monitor, analyze, and diagnose application performance metrics in real-time.
- Build and maintain performance test scripts and automated scenarios to evaluate system behavior under stress, load, and endurance testing conditions.
Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze performance test results, identify bottlenecks, and provide actionable recommendations to resolve performance issues.
- Generate detailed reports and performance dashboards to present to technical stakeholders, project managers, and business units.
- Ensure that all performance testing activities align with enterprise standards and client-specific KPIs.
Collaboration & Optimization
- Work closely with developers, QA teams, DevOps, and architects to fine-tune application performance and ensure the highest levels of scalability and reliability.
- Participate in code reviews, root cause analysis (RCA), and remediation planning related to application performance.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and cloud teams to validate performance across different environments and configurations.
Best Practices & Documentation
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of performance engineering frameworks, methodologies, and toolsets.
- Document performance testing strategies, tuning efforts, and test case repositories for future reference.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging tools, trends, and techniques in performance engineering and system optimization.
Production Monitoring & Support
- Continuously monitor production environments using Dynatrace, identify anomalies, and alert support teams.
- Provide immediate performance insights to support critical incident management or post-deployment validation.
- Support performance tuning efforts based on production performance logs, business usage trends, and end-user behavior.
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 7 years of experience in performance testing and performance analysis.
- Strong hands-on experience with Dynatrace for application performance monitoring, real-user monitoring, and custom dashboarding.
- Proficiency in Java, with the ability to interpret logs, troubleshoot performance-related code issues, and contribute to application tuning.
- Expertise in using LoadRunner for creating and executing performance test scripts.
- Proven ability to conduct bottleneck identification, impact analysis, and performance tuning.
- Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Experience working in hybrid teams and cross-functional environments.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Familiarity with other performance testing tools such as JMeter, NeoLoad, or Gatling.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, APM integrations, or containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their performance testing implications.
- Knowledge of performance tuning at the database or middleware layer.
