Position Overview: Deputy Manager – Electrical Design

Key Responsibilities
As Deputy Manager – Electrical Design, your core duties and responsibilities will include:
1. Design and Engineering Oversight

Develop electrical design plans for shipbuilding, ship repair, and marine engineering projects
Create detailed electrical schematics, circuit layouts, and component diagrams
2. Software-Based Electrical Design
Use advanced design software like AutoCAD, Tribon, Aveva, or CADMATIC to create, edit, and review technical drawings
Ensure seamless integration between electrical and mechanical systems through 3D modeling and collaborative design platforms
3. Project Management
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, structural, and project engineers
Review project timelines, allocate resources, and ensure delivery within deadlines
Maintain documentation and version control for all design files
4. Quality Control and Standards
Ensure compliance with international electrical safety standards, classification society regulations, and ISO norms
Conduct technical audits and peer reviews to maintain design accuracy and integrity
5. Team Leadership
Guide junior engineers and design staff on best practices in electrical design

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications
Must hold a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electrical Engineering
Minimum aggregate of 60% marks in qualifying degree
Education must be obtained from a recognized university or institution
Experience Requirements
Minimum 7 years of post-qualification managerial experience in one or more of the following domains:
Shipbuilding
Ship Repair
Offshore Fabrication
Marine Engineering
Engineering Design in Petrochemical Industry
Technical Skills
Proficiency in electrical design tools and software:
AutoCAD – For 2D/3D electrical drawings and layouts
Tribon, Aveva, CADMATIC – Marine-specific software for complex ship designs
Familiarity with the design of power distribution systems, lighting, automation, and navigation equipment in marine environments
