About the Role
As a MicroLED Display Product Engineer at Google, you will own up to guaranteeing the performance, quality, and manufacturability of microLED display products. You‘ll work through the end-to-end engineering lifecycle — from validating performance via data analysis to identifying the most important hardware issues and driving corrective actions. Your responsibilities will include evaluating specifications, analyzing test data, enhancing yield, and supporting scalable production solutions.
With direct involvement in Google’s proprietary Raxium microLED technology, you’ll be instrumental in influencing how displays are designed, tested, and brought to life in real-world products. Our team is at the nexus of software, hardware, and semiconductor innovation, developing solutions that will impact millions of users around the globe.
Key Responsibilities
• Detect and solve hardware problems: Identify design faults, performance inconsistencies, and reliability threats in microLED devices. Suggest and execute strong remedial measures to maintain product integrity.
• Examine intricate product and test data: Analyze huge volumes of data streams to find trends, performance variations, and manufacturing discrepancies. Interpret results in terms of engineering actionable insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work with electrical, mechanical, optical, and manufacturing engineers to correlate product specifications with testing procedures and manufacturing processes.
• Optimize testing methodologies: Assess existing test processes and recommend improvements that enhance accuracy, scalability, and efficiency on production lines.
• Guide production ramp-up strategies: Assist production ramp-up efforts to go from prototype to mass production by using proven and repeatable solutions that assure quality and consistency.
• Assist specification development: Assist in defining, developing, and validating technical specifications based on customer needs and key trade-off analysis.
• Verify data integrity: Enforce highest levels of test data accuracy, traceability, and reliability to ensure final product shipment performance and consistency.
• Promote innovation in display technologies: Assist in creating new display architectures, fabrication techniques, and characterization methods specific to new product applications.
Minimum Qualifications
To succeed in this position, you should have the following minimum requirements:
• Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or a technical related field (e.g., optics, sensors, audio/DSP), or practical equivalent experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in working within a technical engineering environment. Or 3 years of comparable experience with an advanced master‘s or higher degree.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will provide an added advantage:
• 8 years of experience in a product development or product engineering position, ideally within the semiconductor or display component market.
•SupportedContent specifications, yields, trade-offs, and production data analytics knowledge.
• Familiarity with microLED fabrication and characterization, particularly for applications such as AR, VR, or consumer electronics.
•SupportedContent design experience with scalable production systems to support efficient ramp-up for new product launches.
• Experience with optical characterization equipment, semiconductor processing tools, and display test software.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a history of working successfully in cross-functional teams.
• Background in hardware quality assurance, failure analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
• Good knowledge of compound semiconductor materials and light-field display technology is a strong advantage.

This is a full-time position with a competitive compensation package that includes
• Base salary range: $147,000–$216,000 USD
