Role Overview: AI Engineer at Cognizant

This role sits at the Senior Associate (SA) level and is open to professionals across PAN India, with preference given to those based in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, or Pune.

Key Responsibilities

Building and Scaling RAG Chatbot Architectures: Develop intelligent conversational agents leveraging Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), ensuring accurate, context-aware, and secure responses for enterprise use cases.
Generative AI Application Development: Work extensively with Azure OpenAI Service and Python to design, test, and deploy advanced AI-powered applications.
Scripting and Automation: Use Python frameworks like LangChain for document chunking, embedding generation, and orchestration of complex AI workflows.
Integration with Azure Ecosystem: Develop applications leveraging Azure AI Search, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Functions, Azure Web App, and Azure APIM.
Database Management: Work with MongoDB or Azure Cosmos DB for embedding storage, indexing, and AI data pipelines.
Embedding & Indexing: Build efficient pipelines for vector similarity search, embeddings, and knowledge retrieval.
API Development & Orchestration: Integrate REST APIs, secure endpoints, and build seamless AI-driven applications.
Security and Governance: Ensure compliance with organizational policies, using tools like Azure Defender to safeguard AI applications.
Collaboration & Future Readiness: Partner with cross-functional teams to design new architectures for next-generation chatbots and conversational systems.

Essential Skill Set

Python Programming
- Proficiency in Python for AI scripting and automation.
- Experience with frameworks like LangChain for AI orchestration.
Generative AI & RAG Concepts

- Experience in prompt engineering, embeddings, fine-tuning, and LLM-based workflows.
Embedding & Indexing

Azure OpenAI Services
