Position Overview: Test Engineer – L3

As a Test Engineer – L3, you will be responsible for creating and executing test cases, validating the product/platform/solution before deployment, and ensuring that it complies with Wipro’s quality assurance standards. This position plays a critical role in identifying software bugs, enhancing testing frameworks, and working with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless delivery process.

Key Responsibilities

1. Test Planning and Execution

• Interpret business and technical requirements to design accurate, detailed test cases.
• Create detailed test plans that incorporate and reflect both functional and non-functional specifications of the system.
• Apply Wipro’s specialized testing strategy, incorporating Model-Based Testing techniques to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of test case generation.
• Coordinate peer reviews of test cases to minimize rework and ensure completeness.
• Work closely with the development team to collect feature-specific and version-controlled test cases for thorough validation.
• Set clear test criteria, boundaries, and participate actively in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Execute manual and automated testing and validate results against requirements.

2. Automation and Framework Development

• Automate test lifecycle stages using tools such as VB macros, scheduling utilities, and GUI automation.
• Design and maintain automation frameworks with emphasis on reusability and scalability.
• Build test environments and design automation scripts based on test cases, scenarios, and use cases.
• Generate real-time test reports and dashboards to inform stakeholders on testing progress and quality.

3. Quality Assurance and Defect Management

• Raise and document defects with detailed descriptions and replication steps as per project norms.
• Track and resolve bugs through their lifecycle, ensuring timely fixes and retesting.
• Ensure all deliverables meet internal and customer-defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Maintain high standards in usability, serviceability, and quality through continuous improvement.

4. Customer Engagement and Reporting

• Ensure regular updates on testing progress, defects, and release cycles via formal reporting mechanisms such as WSRs and dashboards.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders through emails, calls, and reports maintaining high standards of professional etiquette.
• Proactively update effort logs and project repositories such as eCube and TMS.
• Deliver timely responses to internal and external queries without escalation or complaints.

• Exposure to automation tools and scripting in the context of data warehouse and ETL testing
