  • Design Documentation: Develop and review technical design specifications, electrical layouts, schematics, and installation drawings.

  • Project Oversight: Oversee and support on-site construction and commissioning activities, including answering RFIs, reviewing technical submittals, and conducting inspections.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Present technical designs to internal and external stakeholders, including engineering peers, management teams, and external consultants.

  • Code Compliance: Ensure that all designs are fully compliant with European electrical codes and AWS’s internal standards for safety, reliability, and efficiency.

  • Technology Research: Evaluate emerging technologies, new design approaches, and innovative construction methods to reduce costs without compromising system quality or availability.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work alongside software engineers, supply chain experts, facility managers, and environmental engineers to ensure holistic data center design integration.

About the Team

The Datacenter Electrical Design team at AWS is a dynamic and experienced group of engineers with backgrounds in consulting, hands-on electrical installation, and system commissioning. Many team members are former electricians, bringing practical field knowledge into the design process. This blend of theory and application creates a robust foundation for delivering world-class infrastructure solutions.
