Position Overview
Deloitte is actively seeking an experienced Digital Release Manager to join its Global Employer Services Technology Center (GESTC) in Hyderabad, where you’ll lead and optimize enterprise software delivery strategies. This strategic role involves leading the release lifecycle of enterprise-scale software solutions that support Deloitte Tax’s transformation efforts. You will coordinate the delivery of multiple releases across varied environments, ensuring timely deployments with minimal impact to business operations.
As a Digital Release Manager, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams including development, QA, operations, risk, and business stakeholders to drive best-in-class release execution. Success in this role depends on strong project leadership, effective stakeholder engagement, proactive risk management, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive release plans, deployment schedules, and milestone tracking for enterprise software releases.
- Oversee cross-team coordination during release planning, testing, deployment, and validation phases.
- Verify that every release artifact aligns with established quality standards and adheres to regulatory and compliance guidelines.
- Identify and address risks associated with software deployment; build mitigation strategies to reduce impact.
- Maintain real-time release status updates, communicating effectively with global stakeholders.
- Lead go/no-go meetings, release readiness reviews, and post-deployment retrospectives.
- Manage code branching, merging strategies, build management, and deployment logistics.
- Continuously refine release management processes and tools to improve delivery speed, accuracy, and reliability.
- Own and execute the Hypercare plan for production support, including emergency or on-demand releases.
- Maintain all relevant documentation such as release notes, rollback plans, and deployment guides.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Computer Science); Master’s degree in Business is a plus.
- Active or in-progress certifications in one or more of the following:
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
Key Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of proven experience within a Project Management Office (PMO) or consulting/strategy environment.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, JIRA, or equivalent project and software lifecycle tools.
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and collaboration platforms like SharePoint and Teams.
- In-depth understanding of Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) practices.
- Ability to work effectively within a global, distributed team structure.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with an executive presence.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple high-priority releases and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and conceptual analysis skills.
- Capable of driving organization-wide initiatives with minimal supervision.
- Experienced in shaping business cases, building strategic roadmaps, and ensuring cohesive alignment with overarching program objectives.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with SOC 2, GDPR, or Data Privacy standards.
- Experience in highly regulated, compliance-driven technology environments.
- Understanding of global mobility and tax domain is a value-add.
