Job Overview

Cognizant is currently seeking a talented and experienced PTG Developer to join our fast-paced and forward-thinking development team. This role is ideal for candidates who have hands-on expertise in mobile application development, especially within hybrid environments. The ideal candidate will work closely with our UX, design, and product teams to deliver feature-rich, scalable, and user-centric mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities

Mobile Application Development

• Design, build, and maintain mobile applications that fulfill business objectives and enhance end-user satisfaction.
• Collaborate with product owners, UX/UI designers, and backend teams to develop innovative features.
• Develop reusable components and libraries for future use across projects.

Performance Optimization & Debugging

• Conduct thorough performance testing and debugging of applications to ensure smooth functionality across devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and crashes.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, performance, and responsiveness.

Code Quality & Standards

• Participate in regular code reviews and maintain coding standards that ensure high-quality, maintainable code.
• Adhere to best practices in mobile development, focusing on scalable and secure code.
• Maintain and update technical documentation and project-related notes.

Agile Participation & Mentorship

• Engage actively in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and daily standups.
• Mentor and guide junior developers in best practices and problem-solving.
• Identify opportunities to refine development methodologies and enhance team efficiency.

Security & Compliance

• Implement industry-standard security protocols and data protection measures.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external data privacy and security standards.
• Ensure applications are aligned with both internal governance and external privacy and security regulations.

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong experience with mobile development frameworks and hybrid platforms such as React Native, Flutter, or Ionic.
• Solid understanding of mobile architecture patterns like MVC, MVVM, and Clean Architecture.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Dart, or relevant mobile programming languages.
• Hands-on experience with APIs, RESTful services, and third-party libraries.
• In-depth knowledge of debugging tools, performance tuning, and modern testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with mobile DevOps tools for CI/CD pipelines and app deployment.
• Deep understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
• Exceptional analytical thinking and a meticulous approach to solving problems.
• Experience with Agile development frameworks like Scrum or Kanban.

Preferred Skills

• Prior experience with cross-platform mobile application development.
• Skilled in using Firebase services, implementing push notification systems, and leveraging mobile analytics platforms.
• Basic knowledge of native mobile development (Android/iOS) is a plus.
• Hands-on experience working with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
