Role Overview: Project Manager – Aerospace/Defence Programs

The Project Manager will be entrusted with end-to-end project management responsibilities for strategic aerospace and defence programs. This includes customer engagement, team leadership, cost control, scheduling, risk mitigation, and stakeholder management. Minimum Qualifications

Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably in Mechanical or Aerospace disciplines).
Certification: Completion of a recognized Program in Project Management – Level 1.
Candidates should possess 8 to 10 years of comprehensive professional experience in the relevant domain.
Specialized Experience: At least 3 years of experience managing projects in the Aerospace and/or Defence sector.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership and Resource Management

Lead and motivate a cross-functional team to achieve project milestones in a high-performance environment.

Understand and respond proactively to stakeholder expectations, ensuring project goals align with contractual and quality standards.
Manage changes in project scope and coordinate approvals in alignment with customer expectations.

3. Project Planning, Scheduling, and Execution

Develop comprehensive project execution plans that detail the scope, resources, budgets, risk factors, and delivery milestones.
Utilize modern project management tools and methodologies (such as MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent) to track progress, manage dependencies, and ensure delivery on schedule.
Oversee day-to-day project activities, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and contractual commitments.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and quality teams to achieve seamless execution.

4. Budget and Cost Control

Take full ownership of project budgeting, expenditure monitoring, and variance analysis.
Ensure optimal use of allocated resources to maximize output without compromising on quality or compliance.
Track revenue recognition and cost-to-completion, ensuring quarterly and annual sales targets are met.
Proactively flag financial risks and drive corrective actions to maintain budgetary discipline.

5. Support for Business Development and Technical Proposals

Collaborate with the business development and marketing teams to respond to RFPs and customer inquiries.
Provide technical and commercial inputs for proposals, quotations, and service/training packages.
Participate in pre-bid meetings and support negotiations by offering insights on project feasibility, resource planning, and timelines.
