As a System Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, integration, and validation of cutting-edge electrical and electronic systems that power mission-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities
1. System Architecture and Concept Design

Develop system-level architecture based on project-specific technical requirements.

Perform concept-level design and analytical calculations to determine the most efficient system configurations.

Participate in brainstorming and requirement analysis sessions for innovative system-level solutions.
2. Electrical & Electronic Integration
-
Conduct detailed system engineering for product and prototype development.

Select suitable sensors, motors, controllers, drivers, and other electronic/electrical components aligned with the project scope.

Translate abstract technical concepts into reliable electronic sub-systems and modules.
3. Engineering Design & Development
-
Create comprehensive electrical/electronic circuit schemes for consoles, control panels, electronic units, and sensors.

Design sub-systems for controllers and electro-mechanical assemblies ensuring functionality, robustness, and maintainability.

Develop unit and system-level test plans and conduct validation testing of electronic modules.
4. Compliance & Standards Adherence
-
Engineer solutions considering applicable environmental, electrical, EMI/EMC, and MIL standards.
-
Validate design integrity in alignment with safety, environmental durability, and operational efficiency.
-
Ensure all systems meet qualification requirements under extreme operating conditions.
5. Drawing Generation & Documentation
-
Generate detailed electrical harness drawings, wiring layouts, and component schematics as per industry standards.

Ensure manufacturability by creating DFM (Design for Manufacturing) compliant drawings.
-
Release engineering documents through Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
6. Review of Vendor Subsystems
-
Evaluate and approve designs of outsourced/bought-out electrical systems and subassemblies.

Validate their conformity with L&T’s technical specifications and project requirements.
7. Prototype Realization and Field Support
-
Actively participate in the assembly, integration, and testing of prototype systems within the factory and field environments.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Quality Assurance, Assembly & Integration, Project Management, and Testing Centers.

Troubleshoot and resolve design-related technical queries during prototyping and field trials.
8. Proposal & Pre-sales Engineering
-
Contribute to the development of technical proposals for client projects, including defining system specifications, features, and design philosophies.
Essential Skills and Competencies

Electrical & Electronic System Design: Deep understanding of electrical/electronic design concepts (excluding PCB layout design).

Circuit Scheme Development: Ability to conceptualize and draft complex electrical and electronic schemes for various system architectures.

MIL Standards: Proven knowledge and practical exposure to military standards for electrical/electronic systems.

EMI/EMC Standards: Strong grasp of electromagnetic interference and compatibility compliance requirements.

ECAD and CAD Tools: Proficiency in Zuken E3 (preferred) and familiarity with SolidWorks, UG NX, or equivalent 3D CAD tools.

PLM Proficiency: Working experience with PLM tools for design release and documentation.

Analytical & Decision-Making Skills: Strong logical thinking and analytical capabilities for problem-solving in dynamic project environments.

Project Execution & Coordination: Efficient in handling multidisciplinary collaboration and managing deliverables within project timelines.

Communication & Teamwork: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must demonstrate proactive team engagement and stakeholder coordination.
