Position Overview:

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Renewables IC, a division renowned for its pioneering work in the renewable energy sector, is seeking an experienced and motivated Site Incharge – Solar O&M to manage the operations and maintenance activities of a ground-mounted solar plant based in Madhya Pradesh. This is a prime opportunity for professionals with 6–10 years of experience in solar plant management and electrical maintenance to lead a high-performing team and ensure peak operational efficiency.

Project Information:

  • Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of ground-mounted solar plant.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Oversight:

  • Monitor the daily operations and functionality of all electrical equipment on-site.
  • Implement scheduled and preventive maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and reliability of solar plant assets.
  • Attend to and resolve breakdown maintenance efficiently to minimize downtime.

2. Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain comprehensive records and reports as per site requirements, including Daily Generation Reports (DGR), maintenance logs, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for breakdowns.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) standards and maintain accurate documentation.

3. Subcontractor and Vendor Management:

  • Manage subcontractors effectively to ensure compliance with project timelines and quality standards.
  • Liaise with vendors and sub-contractors for timely procurement of spare parts and services.

4. Staff Development and Management:

  • Lead and manage a team of 15+ personnel, including engineers and technicians.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for subordinates to enhance their skills and ensure compliance with site procedures.
  • Cultivate an environment that emphasizes collaboration, ownership, and continuous professional growth.

5. Maintenance and Testing:

  • Schedule and conduct annual testing of all electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Implement and oversee the preventive maintenance schedule in alignment with the O&M manual.

6. Compliance and Standards:

  • Ensure strict adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards.
  • Maintain compliance with equipment warranties and guarantees.
  • Ensure that the plant operates in line with the contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Generation and Performance Ratio (PR).

7. Stakeholder Management:

  • Internal: Coordinate with reporting managers, supply chain teams, finance & accounts (F&A), and engineering departments.
  • External: Interface with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth site operations and client satisfaction.

8. Budget and Resource Management:

  • Manage the site budget effectively, ensuring cost control and optimal utilization of resources.
  • Oversee store and spare parts management, maintaining inventory as per operational needs.

9. Soft Skills and Communication:

  • Skilled in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for efficient reporting and professional presentations.
  • Possess transparent and clear verbal communication skills.
  • Capable of effective email communication and correspondence.

10. Contract Management:

  • Interpret and enforce the terms and conditions of O&M contracts to ensure full compliance and protect the organization’s interests.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong expertise in electrical engineering, particularly in the operation and maintenance of solar power systems.
  • Proficiency in electrical maintenance, testing, and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of solar plant maintenance planning and performance optimization.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good financial acumen for managing site budgets.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree (B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering.
  • 6–10 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance and solar plant operations.
  • Proven ability to lead medium-sized teams and manage subcontractors.
  • Experience in maintenance planning, electrical testing, and commissioning is highly preferred.
