1. HVAC System Design & Engineering
- Lead the design and engineering of chilled water systems, VRF/VRV, DX systems, exhaust, and ventilation units.
- Conduct advanced heat load calculations using industry-standard tools (e.g., Carrier HAP, E20, Trace).
- Design ductwork and piping systems, plan airflow distribution, and develop HVAC layouts in compliance with ASHRAE, SMACNA, and ISHRAE standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (architecture, electrical, plumbing, structural) to ensure smooth integration.
2. Component Knowledge & Equipment Selection
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of HVAC components such as chillers, FCUs, AHUs, pumps, dampers, diffusers, cooling towers, and terminal units.
- Select equipment based on performance specs, load requirements, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Prepare and validate technical data sheets for all equipment with specifications, sizing, and electrical compatibility.
- Evaluate vendor proposals and draft technical bid evaluations (TBEs) for procurement.
3. Project Management & Coordination
- Lead HVAC engineering efforts across the full lifecycle – design, procurement, installation, and commissioning.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure schedule adherence.
- Represent HVAC engineering in design review meetings, project workshops, and coordination calls.
- Track project milestones, budgets, and timelines while ensuring quality deliverables.
4. Technical Documentation & Reporting
- Create and maintain HVAC layouts, detailed BOQs, schematic diagrams, and design submittals.
- Document all technical correspondence, RFIs, approvals, and design iterations.
- Draft installation method statements, testing and commissioning protocols, and operation manuals (O&M).
5. Site Support & Execution Oversight
- Provide hands-on technical assistance during site installation and system commissioning.
- Review and verify shop drawings and material submittals against approved designs.
- Conduct routine site inspections and resolve any design inconsistencies or technical queries.
- Supervise TAB (Testing, Adjusting, Balancing) processes to confirm performance standards are met.
6. Compliance & Sustainability Standards
- Ensure adherence to applicable standards and codes: ASHRAE, ASTM, ISHRAE, NFPA, and LEED.
- Promote sustainable engineering practices, energy efficiency, and indoor air quality best practices.
- Support certification efforts for IGBC, GRIHA, or LEED where applicable.
Candidate Profile
- B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering) from a recognized university
- 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in HVAC design and project engineering
- Proficient in HVAC design and simulation tools such as HAP, Trace, and AutoCAD/Revit MEP
