This role focuses on long-term network design, capacity planning, and optimization strategies in fast-growing, emerging markets including the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Latin America.


About Amazon’s Emerging Country Network Topology Planning Team

This strategic Amazon team is tasked with developing and refining the long-term network topology and supply chain architecture across nine rapidly evolving markets: Mexico, Brazil, Australia, the Middle East (United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt), Turkey, South Africa, and Singapore. The team’s work also sets the foundation for future market expansions.

Their primary objective is to design and implement cost-effective, high-performance supply chain models that can handle the dynamic demands of these regions, ensuring seamless fulfillment, scalability, and enhanced customer experience.

Position Overview

As a Senior Network Planning Manager, you will take the lead on designing and optimizing a multi-year and multi-echelon network topology that will shape the future of Amazon’s fulfillment and distribution strategies in emerging markets. This high-impact role involves end-to-end program ownership, strategic network planning, stakeholder engagement, and operational execution.

You’ll work cross-functionally with global engineering, technology, supply chain, operations, finance, and country-specific teams to architect scalable and intelligent logistics solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Network Design: Lead comprehensive long-term network planning initiatives (3–5 years) that align with Amazon’s goals for speed, cost-efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with global teams including engineering, finance, operations, and business intelligence to gather technical and business requirements and deliver scalable fulfillment center (FC) and logistics solutions.
  • Capacity Planning & Topology Optimization: Drive long-term capacity modeling, identify future expansion opportunities, and influence network structure based on demand forecasts and logistics trends.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Manage complex stakeholder relationships across different regions and functions, ensuring alignment, timely updates, and resolution of conflicts or blockers.
  • Program Management: Oversee the delivery of multiple concurrent projects across countries, monitor milestones, and ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify gaps in existing systems and processes. Lead process enhancement initiatives by adopting best practices from mature markets and customizing them for emerging markets.
  • Travel Readiness: Travel up to 25% annually to emerging country sites to collaborate with local teams, evaluate ground realities, and fine-tune strategic plans.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in supply chain network planning, long-term strategy development, and capacity modeling.
  • Minimum 5 years of end-to-end program ownership with executive-level reporting responsibilities.
  • Proven experience managing complex stakeholder networks across multiple regions and teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with senior leadership.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data modeling, pivot tables, macros, index-match, vlookups, and data linking.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, or Business Administration (MBA).
  • Certification or experience in Six Sigma, Lean, or operational excellence frameworks.
  • Experience with SQL or Python, and fluency with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Strong understanding of fulfillment center design, transportation logistics, and end-to-end supply chain architecture.
  • Demonstrated success in high-pressure, fast-paced environments, with the ability to deliver results under tight deadlines.
