Position Summary
We are looking for a proactive and result-driven professional to join our team as Executive/Assistant Manager – Commercial Purchase (Direct Materials Buyer). This critical role focuses on the procurement of direct materials, specifically machined and turned components. You will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, driving cost optimization, ensuring supply continuity, and aligning with global sourcing strategies.
The ideal candidate brings 6 to 11 years of hands-on experience in direct material procurement, possesses strong business acumen, and is well-versed in modern purchasing tools, contract management, and global sourcing practices.
Key Responsibilities
Commodity Management & Supplier Strategy

Conduct in-depth market research and analysis for direct material commodities, particularly machined and turned parts.

Actively support and implement the global supplier strategy within the organization.

Act as a central liaison between global purchasing, plant functions, and suppliers to ensure alignment and seamless collaboration.

Take ownership of supplier development initiatives, supplier onboarding, and mentoring aligned to the commodity strategy.
Cost Optimization & Contract Negotiation

Lead cost structure analysis to identify savings opportunities and implement actionable improvement plans.

Independently manage annual pricing negotiations with suppliers, ensuring the best value for the organization.

Execute long-term contract management strategies with focus on commercial optimization and risk mitigation.

Drive transparency in supplier cost components to facilitate competitive pricing.
Supplier Relationship & Performance Management

Evaluate supplier performance using Bosch internal criteria and ensure consistent compliance with delivery, quality, and cost parameters.

Manage supplier capacity and ensure readiness for volume ramp-ups, addressing bottlenecks proactively.

Ensure business continuity through effective supply chain risk assessments and mitigation plans.
Sourcing & Awarding Process

Lead RFQ (Request for Quotation) processes—document preparation, supplier evaluation, and final awarding decisions.

Participate in global sourcing inquiries and collaborate with international teams to meet business needs.

Maintain accurate documentation for supplier assessments, cost benchmarks, and technical-commercial evaluations.
Process Excellence & Digital Tools

Drive purchasing efficiency by leveraging automation tools and digital platforms like SAP, SharePoint, and MS Teams.

Implement best practices in procurement processes, contributing to the digital transformation of sourcing operations.

Apply structured problem-solving techniques and analytical tools to streamline purchasing workflows.

Purchasing & Commercial Expertise: Strong practical experience in sourcing direct materials, with deep exposure to contract management, RFQ processes, and cost structure analysis.

Analytical Thinking: Capable of dissecting cost structures and supplier performance data to derive actionable insights.

Communication & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—both verbal and written—with the ability to interface confidently across departments and hierarchical levels.

Negotiation & Influence: Proven track record in supplier negotiations, demonstrating confidence and business intelligence in achieving favorable outcomes.

Technical Understanding: A sound grasp of engineering concepts and manufacturing processes relevant to machined and turned parts.
Technical Tools & Knowledge

Proficiency in SAP (Purchasing Modules)

Experience with RFQ/RFP processes

Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Exposure to SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and various automation tools

Understanding of Costing, Contractual Clauses, and Pricing Models
Qualifications & Experience

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or equivalent).

Work Experience: 6 to 11 years of relevant experience in procurement of direct materials, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Strategic Sourcing of machined and turned components.

Exposure to global sourcing processes and export-related documentation.
