Role Overview: Applied Computer Vision Engineer – Automated Driving
Bosch’s ViPER (Video Perception) team, a cornerstone in the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) unit, is pioneering the development of next-generation perception systems for autonomous vehicles. This team is building powerful end-to-end video perception solutions that enhance the safety and intelligence of modern driving experiences.
We are hiring an Applied Computer Vision Engineer with a strong foundation in deep learning, image processing, and data engineering to join the Retrieval Team within ViPER. In this role, you will design and implement high-performance systems that handle vast driving data—powering the training and validation of ADAS models.

Key Responsibilities
1. Data Retrieval and Curation Systems

Develop efficient data ingestion and retrieval pipelines for large-scale autonomous driving datasets.

Create intelligent systems to select, index, and retrieve edge-case scenarios, ensuring effective training and validation for ADAS models.

Work alongside perception and planning teams to build unified data workflows.

Automate dataset curation using advanced techniques including active learning and semi-automated annotation.
2. Computer Vision & Deep Learning Model Integration

Apply expertise in computer vision, including object detection, semantic segmentation, depth estimation, and scene understanding.

Integrate real-time, scalable deep learning models with sensor fusion inputs from camera, radar, and LiDAR.

Optimize models for real-time deployment using techniques like model pruning, quantization, and parallel processing.
3. Software Engineering & Deployment

Write high-performance, production-quality code in Python and C++.

Deploy machine learning workflows using Docker and Kubernetes in cloud environments (Azure/AWS).

Develop robust services and APIs to serve vision-based insights to downstream ADAS modules.
4. Collaboration & Agile Development

Work in an Agile, fast-paced environment, contributing to all stages of product development—from research to deployment.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including data scientists, software engineers, and domain experts.

Document technical solutions with clarity, contributing to internal knowledge bases and client documentation.
Core Skills and Expertise
Computer Vision and Deep Learning (Minimum 3 Years Experience)

Proficient in object detection, image segmentation, depth estimation, and 3D perception.

Experience with CNNs, Transformers, Supervised/Self-supervised learning, and Transfer Learning.

Demonstrated ability to work with real-world autonomous driving datasets and develop robust models for production.
Data Engineering & Visualization

Skilled in data analysis, preparation, handling, and deriving actionable insights.

Build visualization tools for dataset health monitoring and training feedback loops.
ML Frameworks & Tools

Strong hands-on experience with TensorFlow and PyTorch.

Familiarity with CUDA, OpenMP, and distributed computing systems.
Cloud & DevOps Proficiency

Expertise in deploying ML systems using cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Efficient use of Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
Software Development Tools
