💼 Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer for Active Directory at Providence, you will be entrusted with managing and optimizing the directory services and DNS environment, ensuring secure and efficient operations across hybrid cloud settings.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Active Directory Administration

    • Design, manage, and optimize Active Directory (AD) infrastructure including forests, domains, sites, and organizational units (OUs).

    • Create, apply, and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to ensure policy enforcement and security compliance.

    • Conduct Domain Controller promotions and decommissions with minimal disruption and maximum data integrity.

    • Administer user and group management, and maintain secure and organized AD structures.

  • DNS Infrastructure Management

    • Maintain DNS services across on-premises and Azure environments.

    • Configure and manage DNS zones, records, conditional forwarders, and perform DNS troubleshooting.

    • Ensure high availability and security of DNS infrastructure, implementing best practices and monitoring tools.

  • Cloud Integration with Azure AD

    • Manage hybrid identity solutions and Azure Active Directory sync.

    • Ensure seamless integration between on-prem AD and Azure AD, supporting SSO, MFA, and identity governance protocols.

  • Security & Certificate Management

    • Assist with managing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and SSL/TLS certificates.

    • Troubleshoot authentication, certificate, and federation issues as part of identity lifecycle management.

  • Automation and Scripting

    • Leverage PowerShell scripting to automate administrative tasks and support scalable system deployments.

    • Develop scripts to enhance monitoring, reporting, and remediation processes.


🧠 Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess a strong mix of technical expertise, hands-on experience, and a deep understanding of cloud-integrated directory systems.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory and DNS administration in enterprise environments.

  • Proven proficiency in Azure Active Directory setup and management.

  • Strong working knowledge of PowerShell scripting for system automation.

  • In-depth experience in DNS configuration and troubleshooting, including forwarders, root hints, and zone transfers.

  • Understanding of authentication protocols and hybrid identity models.

  • Exposure to RESTful APIs, integration logic, and troubleshooting.

  • Awareness of DNS security measures like DNSSEC, and best practices for identity and access control.
