Position Overview
Wipro is seeking an experienced and innovative Automation Engineer – L3 to join its dynamic team in Bengaluru. This role focuses on designing, programming, simulating, and testing automation solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of digital products and business processes. Ideal candidates will be passionate about scalable automation frameworks, testing strategies, and robust software validation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Automation Architecture and Planning
- Analyze current technology architecture, system interdependencies, and application stacks.
- Collaborate with project managers to formulate and approve project plans.
- Evaluate and improve operating procedures by consulting stakeholders and reviewing objectives.
- Contribute to automation roadmap and testing process improvements by researching advanced automation architectures.
- Build reusable automation libraries and enhance frameworks used across different technology stacks and business domains.
2. Software Development, Testing & Validation
- Design test environments, develop test cases and usage scenarios for thorough validation.
- Draft and implement technical specifications, resolving complex design issues.
- Create automated testing tools and update them to improve testing accuracy and efficiency.
- Track and resolve defects, maintaining a robust bug database.
- Eliminate coding errors through complete ownership of testing and validation.
- Maintain code quality by following Wipro’s standards, using design patterns, and engaging in peer reviews.
3. Agile Delivery & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with Agile teams to translate product backlogs into robust test automation suites.
- Collaborate on continuous deployment practices, driving improved automation strategy and tooling.
- Assist in defining acceptance criteria and managing the automation backlog.
- Integrate automated test cases into CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps practices.
4. Stakeholder Communication & Documentation
- Engage with SMEs, users, and internal teams to align automation strategies with business needs.
- Ensure accurate and complete project documentation including debug data, performance reviews, and test logs.
- Train and support testing and support personnel in troubleshooting and automation enhancements.
- Maintain clear and professional communication across all project phases.
5. Backend and Database Automation
- Conduct backend programming and automate database-related processes.
- Leverage industry standards for data validation, transformation, and processing.

Candidate Profile
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in automation engineering, QA automation, or DevOps roles.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, JavaScript, or Shell.
- Proficiency with automation tools like Selenium, TestNG, Appium, or JUnit.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with backend and database testing strategies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience in cloud testing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience in RPA (Robotic Process Automation) tools.
- Working knowledge of container orchestration platforms like Docker or Kubernetes.
- Industry certifications in automation frameworks or DevOps practices.
