About the Role
As an Audit Associate in the APAC AWM Audit Team, you will be responsible for evaluating the efficiency and robustness of internal control systems that govern the asset and wealth management businesses within the Asia-Pacific region. Key Responsibilities
- Execute all phases of audits including planning, fieldwork (testing and control evaluation), documentation, report drafting, and issue closure verification.

- Identify emerging risks and evaluate existing control structures, reporting concerns to senior audit leadership.
- Prepare audit workpapers and documentation with minimal supervision.
- Communicate audit findings both verbally and in written form to key stakeholders, influencing resolution and follow-up.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with internal business stakeholders across departments.
- Proactively manage self-development through stretch assignments, training opportunities, and taking initiative in areas of learning and growth.
- Monitor regulatory and industry changes relevant to risk management and audit functions, particularly within the APAC region.
Qualifications and Capabilities Required

Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in internal audit, compliance, risk, or finance within the financial services sector.
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Recognized professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, CFA, or FRM.
- Working knowledge of Japanese financial regulations, laws, and governance standards.
- Ability to work within a matrixed team structure and manage multiple audit projects effectively.
- In-depth understanding of internal controls and audit methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes and present findings to senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and adhere to tight deadlines.
