Promote cage-based marine fish farming along the coast of Puducherry

🎯 Job Description
As a Field Assistant, you will play a vital support role in the on-ground implementation of the marine aquaculture project. This includes assisting in sea cage farming operations, field sample collection, handling fish stock, seaweed cultivation, and reporting findings to scientific supervisors.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities
Assist in the installation, operation, and maintenance of sea cages

Support daily feeding, monitoring, and care of marine finfishes under farm conditions

Help with seaweed planting and harvesting around cage structures

Collect and transport biological and environmental samples for lab analysis

Record routine field observations such as water quality, fish behavior, feed usage, etc.

Support logistics for field operations (nets, ropes, feed, anchors, etc.)

Assist research personnel and technical teams during field trials and demonstrations

Ensure cleanliness and safety around floating cages and seaweed lines

Comply with fieldwork protocols and marine safety standards

🎓 Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification:
10th Pass (Matriculation) from a recognized board/institution

Preference will be given to candidates with exposure to aquaculture/fisheries fieldwork

👨‍🔬 Desired Skills & Attributes
Basic understanding of fish farming or marine operations

Physically fit and able to work in marine/field conditions

Willingness to travel by boat and assist in offshore cage installations

Familiarity with local languages (Tamil/French) is a plus
