About the Role—What You’ll Be Doing
As a Software Developer 4 (IC4), you will be a Principal Member of Technical Staff (PMTS) in Oracle‘s engineering organization. As a PMTS, you will design, develop, and deploy cutting–edge security features for Oracle’s databases across cloud-native and hybrid environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the design and development of sophisticated database security solutions utilizing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
• Develop stable, high-performing, and scalable components that address enterprise-class security and compliance requirements.
• Work with architects, product managers, and cross-functional engineering groups to determine product specifications and technical direction.
• Interact with Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle Database groups to enable integrated and efficient operations.
• Invent and work on core technologies such as Database Vault, Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), Virtual Private Database (VPD), Real Application Security, and so on.
• Offer technical guidance to junior developers and engage in code reviews to guarantee code quality and architectural consistency.
• Keep up with emerging industry trends in cloud security, big data, and application-level defense, influencing product improvements and next-generation security solutions.
What You‘ll Bring—Required Skills and Experience
To succeed in this position, you’ll have to possess extensive technical knowledge and be proactive. Here‘s what we‘re seeking:
✅ Must-Have Experience:
• At least 10 years of software development experience with a strong emphasis on cloud-based systems and security.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing and scaling cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, or large-scale enterprise applications.
• Java, SQL, and PL/SQL proficient and familiar with RESTful APIs, XML, and middleware security technologies.
• Database systems, virtual networking, and operating systems expertise at the architectural level.
• In-depth knowledge of authentication mechanisms, access control, applied cryptography, and security protocols.
• Previous experience with cloud security software and platforms, ideally in a cloud-native setup like OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience in integrating multi-complex apps with cloud infrastructures and modern design patterns.
Desired Qualifications:
• A master‘s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field is desired.
• Familiarity with autonomous database technology and multi-cloud integration is an added advantage.
• Acquaintance with up-and-coming trends in big data security, threat sensing, and compliance auditing tools.
