Key Responsibilities
As an SDE II in the Jobs Domain, you will have a significant contribution to making the technology behind Amazon‘s workforce operations. Your major responsibilities are:
• Innovative Product Development: Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to develop, design, and implement innovative products that make workforce efficiency better.
• Building Scalable Technologies: Create highly scalable distributed computing systems that enhance workforce management at Amazon scale.
• Predictive Analytics: Develop solutions that utilize machine learning and big data to drive better decision-making and workforce planning.
• Developing Robust Systems: Develop fault-tolerant storage, indexing, and query systems that are low-cost and easy to maintain.
• Technical Leadership: Design, code, and lead foundational changes in the industry by solving broadly defined, complex problems.
• Agile Development: Develop in an agile, high–velocity environment to deliver high-quality, reliable software solutions.
Basic Qualifications
In order to apply for the SDE II role at Amazon, you should possess the following minimum qualifications:
• 3+ years of professional software development experience (excluding internship).
• 2+ years of system design and architecture experience (including design patterns, reliability, and scalability).
• Familiarity with one major programming language (like Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript).
Preferred Qualifications
Amazon prefers engineers with strong knowledge and experience in software development. The preferred candidate will have:
• 3+ years of experience in the entire software development life cycle, with coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and deployment.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with distributed computing technologies like AWS, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture.
• Skills in developing scalable web services and cloud-based solutions.
