Job Overview:
We want to hire an experienced and efficient test automation consultant to guide and manage testing efforts in our organization. The perfect candidate should have extensive knowledge in Java, Selenium, Appium, API, and mobile testing on various platforms. The professional should be expected to mentor novice testers, provide automation strategies, maintain best software testing practices, and work alongside cross-functional groups to deliver a high-quality product.
Key Responsibilities:
Mentorship & Leadership: Mentor and lead a group of testers, upholding best practices in automation and quality assurance.
Test Automation Development: Develop, design, and run automated test scripts for web and mobile apps leveraging Java, Selenium, Appium, and API testing tools.
Mobile Testing Expertise: Deploy and orchestrate mobile testing strategies on both Android and iOS platforms, with comprehensive test coverage.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to get proper test coverage for new features and functionality.
Defect Management & Troubleshooting: Identify and fix defects, giving good bug reports with details and collaborating with development teams to get the resolution done fast.
API Testing & Automation: Manage the integration of API testing (REST/SOAP) into test frameworks with tools such as Postman, RestAssured, and SoapUI.
Performance & Load Testing: Perform performance and load testing if and when needed to enhance the efficiency of applications.
CI/CD Implementation: Put in place and improve Continuous Integration/Continuous Testing (CI/CD) pipelines for higher levels of automation and quicker releases.
Tool & Technology Evaluation: Study, test, and add new automation technology and tools for a better process.
Best Practices & Compliance: Apply industry-standard best practices on automation, testing, and quality assurance.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master‘s degree in computer science or engineering, or a related discipline.
Technical Expertise:
Java programming with good understanding of OOP principles.
Hands-on knowledge in Selenium WebDriver for automation testing.
Knowledge of mobile automation testing with Appium (Android and iOS platforms).
Knowledge of API testing using tools such as Postman, RestAssured, SoapUI, or similar frameworks.
Good knowledge of mobile testing approaches, tools, and best practices.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) and version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket).
Experience with test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Zephyr).
Agile Methodologies: Experience with Agile environments, including Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong technical problem-solving skills to detect and fix intricate technical problems with high efficiency.
Communication & Teamwork: Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Certifications: Industry-accepted certifications in ISTQB, Selenium, Appium, API testing, or other test automation platforms are an advantage.
