About the Role
We are seeking a very capable and self-motivated Oracle Database Administrator to join our team. The DBA group maintains both on-premises and cloud databases. Your responsibility will be to maximize database performance, security, and availability. Your Oracle database architecture, RAC, ASM, and cloud skills will play a critical role in having an efficient database environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oracle Database Administration:
Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle databases in RAC and single environments.
Implement high availability solutions using Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC).
Configure and manage Oracle Data Guard for disaster recovery (DR) solutions.
Initialize and terminate Oracle Database Services and tune performance.
Execute database migrations using exp/imp and Oracle Data Pump utilities.
Perform cross-platform migration of Oracle databases.
Utilize Oracle RMAN to execute database backup and recovery procedures.
Troubleshoot problems from Oracle alert logs.
Install Oracle CPU (Critical Patch Updates) and PSU (Patch Set Updates).
Run and examine AWR (Automatic Workload Repository) and ADDM (Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitor) reports.
Verify database backup operations and execute recovery operations if required.
Identify database performance issues and execute optimization best practices.
Automation and Performance Monitoring:
Set up scripts written with SQL, PL/SQL, shell scripting, or Perl for automating database operations.
Examine and maintain database performance for accommodating business demands.
Solve and document database issues in order to enhance the reliability of infrastructure.
Database administration and monitoring tools by Enterprises Manager should be deployed.
Security for databases, integrity for backups, and compliance with organizational policies should be ensured.
Requirements and Qualifications
Educational Qualifications:
BE/MCA (preferably) or Bachelor’s in computer science or information technology.
Technical Skills:
Familiar with Oracle Database 12c and 19c.
Skill in Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) and ASM (Automatic Storage Management).
Skill in SQL, PL/SQL, and Shell/Perl programming.
Experience with Oracle Fusion Middleware technologies (for instance, WebLogic).
Basic understanding of cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, or Azure).
Experience with Enterprise Manager for monitoring and managing the database.
Understanding of Oracle Database Best Practices for security and performance tuning.
Soft Skills:
High-level interpersonal, coordination, and communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently as well as work in a team environment.
Strong organizational ability and attention to detail.
